How a PowerConnect Business Partnership Works

PNG grants the PowerConnect business affiliate exclusive rights to a specified geographic territory. For a one-time implementation fee PNG then deploys, operates and maintains a community broadband network on behalf of its local PowerConnect business affiliate.

With assistance from PNG, the PowerConnect business affiliate is trained to serve as the local broadband ISP (Internet Service Provider). The affiliate is also trained to create partnerships with local agents such as municipal governments, electric cooperatives, local retailers and others within their exclusive territories. These local agents will then be enabled to offer broadband Internet access to users in their community.

PowerConnect business affiliates gain revenues from subscriber equipment and installation and recurring monthly charges from each new subscriber activated in their territory. PNG simply charges the PowerConnect business affiliate a monthly wholesale access fee per subscriber.

PNG provides all services required to deliver broadband access to the Internet for residential, business and government customers. These services include subscriber activation and provisioning, 24/7 network monitoring, and subscriber technical support.

Additionally, PNG provides business affiliates with technical training and marketing support. PNG provides a secure, online order entry and payment system. This system allows the affiliate to place equipment and service orders and is used as an interactive virtual office containing links to tools and services needed to operate their business.

Requirements

Potential PowerConnect business affiliate must first complete an application for qualification. Those accepted must also be prepared to submit a non-refundable affiliate fee.

Affiliate Fee: $10,000 one-time (for survey and design of service)

Implementation Fee: $10,000 - $20,000 per square mile served (for network deployment)

Cash Required to Operate: $30,000 - $50,000 (approx first six months)
